Editorial policy

Original and useful

Every calculator and guide must answer a defined homeowner decision. We do not publish mass-generated location pages, copied manufacturer text, or thin pages created only to display advertising.

Primary-source preference

Technical claims prioritize U.S. government agencies, recognized standards organizations, certification directories, and manufacturer performance data. Commercial sources may provide context but do not silently become universal truth.

Advertising separation

Advertisers, affiliate programs, and equipment sellers do not approve our calculations or guide conclusions. Sponsored placement, if ever offered, will be labeled and will not be presented as an editorial ranking.

Corrections

Material formula or factual corrections are dated on the data-status page. Cosmetic edits and wording clarifications may be made without a separate log entry.

Safety boundary

We do not provide instructions that encourage unqualified refrigerant, combustion, high-voltage, structural, or code-regulated work. Tools are for planning and discussion with qualified professionals.
